How You Can Help at Any Level

There is much to accomplish at many levels. We need your help to grow this organization, whether you represent a local government, a business, a nonprofit organization, or are an individual who supports our mission. CPSC encourages you to:

  • Join CPSC and speak with a unified voice.
  • Advocate for statewide legislation.
  • Pass EPR resolutions and adopt EPR plans and policies (as appropriate)

CPSC is a rapidly growing coalition of local governments in California with an ambitious and straightforward mission:

To shift California’s product waste management system from one focused on government funded and ratepayer financed waste diversion to one that relies on producer responsibility in order to reduce public costs and drive improvements in product design that promote environmental sustainability.

We are staffed by two part-time contract employees who work with participating local governments in two main ways, to:

  1. Build capacity and knowledge to bring about producer financed and managed systems for product discards, including those covered by the universal waste ban, and;
  2. Develop and encourage the use of practical EPR policy and educational tools such as model ordinances and legislation, newsletters, articles, policy briefings, and PowerPoint presentations

Become an Associate, Partner or Stakeholder

CPSC's Associates are local governments, their associations and organizations related to solid waste, recycling, resource conservation, environmental protection, water quality, and other cross-media issues.

To become an Associate, complete the Pledge of Support PDF and submit the appropriate Associates Fee PDF. If you cannot submit the fee at this time, you can still submit the Pledge and be added to our growing list of CPSC Associates.

CPSC's Partners are non-government organizations, individuals, and businesses across California who form a network supporting product stewardship and extended producer responsibility (EPR).

To become a Partner, complete the Pledge of Support PDF and submit the appropriate donation. If you cannot submit a donation at this time, you can still submit the Pledge and be added to our growing list of CPSC Partners.

CPSC Stakeholders: Anyone can become a CPSC Stakeholder and learn more about producer responsibility by joining CPSC's Stakeholder Listserv.
